Deeply Rooted

Deeply Rooted was formed with the stated goals of providing: a haven where pagans can openly practice their spirituality, an educational resource for existing and beginning pagans as well as the general public, access to various pagan clergy members for life passages (wiccanings, handfastings, wailings, coming of age, etc.), and an intentional community.

Thousands of groups of people around the country and world have come to the conclusion that modern society's structure is unhealthy for the Earth and humans. Therefore they, and we, decided to become part of the intentional community movement. Most communities have formed with a specific focus (religion, social issues, organic food, voluntary simplicity, ecology, etc.). Intentional communities vary in size from a handful of people to a village of thousands. Some communities grow all of their own food and eat together everyday; other communities live in cities and only see each other after work. They all have a common desire for a slower pace of life in which you know and interact with your immediate neighbors on a regular basis as well as work together for the greater good. The intent of Deeply Rooted is to have 10-12 full-time members, grow as much of our own food as possible, live in a sustainable manner on earth, assist the greater pagan community to the best of our abilities, and work and live together in a cooperative manner.

Deeply Rooted is a growing community in need of additional people, energy, and ideas. To that end we welcome visitors, interns, and potential new members to come and see what we are all about. There is a community center with a limited amount of guest sleeping space, as well as plenty of space available for rustic camping (no electricity or running water). All meals (vegan, vegetarian, or carnivore) are provided. A donation of $8 is asked of visitors staying overnight to cover costs and meals. We are very open to new ideas and have a wide berth of skills and knowledge to assist you. We do ask that you write or email ahead of time to make sure that as many of us as possible will be there to accommodate your visit.
