Deeply Rooted exists to serve the Earth and the general pagan community in Wisconsin. It is our intent to have Deeply Rooted open as a sanctuary for pagans of all paths and varieties to use as needed and desired. Deeply Rooted is, and will be, a safe place for pagan folk to get away from the mundane for a while, to reconnect with the Earth, to hang out with other pagans, to go on a spiritual retreat, whatever else it is needed for. Deeply Rooted is open for any type of gathering or event; please contact us if you have an event and are looking for a place to hold it.

We ask $8 per person for overnight stays to help us defray basic costs, with the option of work exchange in lieu of cash. The future of Deeply Rooted will deepend solely on the interest of the general pagan community and the level to which they wish to utilize this amazing resource.

There are numerous additions that will be made to the Deeply Rooted property in the near and far future. Please keep in mind that all of these improvements and on-site projects are subject to the approval of the prevailing community members and are thus changeable.

    • We are looking to expand the orchard and garden areas in the 2008 growing season
    • The blacksmith shop will be up and running in January 2008
    • We will have a well drilled by the end of December(hopfully!) and will need help building a pump house/sauna/bathhouse building in the spring
    • There is a large timber cut going on this winter in the 80 acre parcel attached to DR that we have access to, this will allowed us the opprotunity to expand the trail system, harvest some amazing topsoil and amass a ton of firewood.
    • We are looking to greatly expand the DR Clergy Council both in numbers and in activity

    PostHeaderIcon Projects

Many of these projects will be organized or based at Deeply Rooted with much of the actual work taking place elsewhere. They all depend on large numbers of pagan folks knowing about the available resource and being willing to utilize it. Many people of the pagan path seem to have a severe independence/self-reliance bent (which is a good thing) that may at times get in the way of asking for assistant or help when they need it. It is our hope that with the formation of such projects, by pagans and for pagans, folks will be more willing to ask for assistance. It is out intent and belief that those of the pagan path should be taking care of each other more than what may currently be happening. Hopefully all of these, and many more, such projects will take off and be successful. It will only happen if there are many people from all over the state that are willing to do the long-term grunt work necessary to make it a reality. These projects will be very personally rewarding and fun once they get going. Also, if such things already exist in Wisconsin, please let us know so we can assist those already doing this vital work.

Every good cause needs some assistance at some time. Donations and assistance are always welcome. A few fundraising ideas are selling of specialized organic vegetables or herbs, donations from retreats/conferences/events held on the land, or by finding a huge bag of money one day (hey, we can hope:-).Work party weekends are often held during the better weather seasons. Anyone interested may volunteer time, labor, or supplies.

If you have an idea for a shrine/circle/project/event/workshop/whatever of a pagan/earth activist nature but never had the space to bring it into reality, send an e-mail with your suggestion. This land will become a product of those who care enough to really care.
