πŸŽƒDietary Needs & Potluck MealsπŸŽƒ

πŸ‚ What is a potluck meal? Β Potluck is a type of gathering where each guest brings a dish to share. It's a casual and communal way to enjoy a variety of food together. πŸ‚

πŸ•―οΈIt's time to eat!πŸ‚

πŸ‚Everybody has to eat, right?

Within the Deeply Rooted Church Community fellowship, members have the opportunity to demonstrate their culinary expertise during gatherings. Our post-ceremony meals are "potluck," allowing all participants to contribute to and enjoy the abundance.

Here are some key considerations for sharing meals at our church gatherings. We want to ensure that everyone who is our guest is served to the best of our abilities.Β

πŸ•―οΈWe are off-the-grid! πŸ‚

πŸ‚ Since we're off-grid, we don't have a fridge to keep food cold.Β  Our lack of dependence on the main electrical grid is the tradeoff for sustainability and eco-consciousness.Β

So, if you're bringing meat, dairy, or other perishable foods, please store them in a cooler with ice. This will help keep them fresh and safe to eat.

πŸ‚ Dishes containing vegetables, beans, and starches seem to have longevity. If you're vegan or vegetarian, please let us know ahead of time so we can best accommodate your dietery needs. πŸ‚

πŸ•―οΈDo you have food allergy concerns??πŸ‚

πŸ‚ To ensure the safety of everyone with food allergies, please label any homemade dishes you bring to the potluck with all ingredients. This will help others make informed choices about what they eat.

πŸ‚ If you suffer from severe food allergies, consider bringing your own snacks and meals. πŸ‚

πŸ•―οΈAll food kept on the first floor, communal table, is considered up for grabs by anyone. πŸ‚

πŸ‚ All food placed on the communal table on the first floor is open for everyone to enjoy. Feel free to help yourself to any dishes you like! Be sure to ask a member of our staff first if you have any dietary or medical limitations regarding food.Β

πŸ‚ We've got a modest cache of basic foodstuffs to share with all! Remember, if you've laid something on the communal feasting table, it is considered public food - to be shared with the members in attendance. If you do not want to share your meals due to a dietary or medical need, then please store your food in your vehicle or a cooler with your name on it. πŸ‚

πŸ•―οΈPlease do not bring food or drinks to the second floor of the lodge.πŸ‚

πŸ‚ To keep our communal spaces organized and clean, please avoid bringing food or drinks upstairs to the second floor of the lodge. Let's enjoy our meals and snacks together on the first floor's communal table. This will help prevent messes and spills.

πŸ‚ We are are situated in the rural northwoods of Wisconsin. Because of this, we do not want to attract animals or pests to the lodge. Please keep all food and drinks restricted to the first floor of the church building. Do not bring these items to bed, leave them outside unprotected, or in your campsite (unless you have a bear-proof cooler.) πŸ‚

πŸ•―οΈWhat are food items or drinks I could bring to a pot luck meal? πŸ•―οΈ

πŸ‚ We understand that the cost of food prices is rising sharply. Keep in mind that whatever you bring, will be eaten. Some examples of food could be:Β

πŸ‚ Items such as casseroles, stews, pasta dishes keep well as long as they are kept within an iced cooler. Other snacks such as chips, soda, cookies, and baked goods are always highly sought after. πŸ‚

πŸ•―οΈ May I bring my own alcohol?πŸ•―οΈ

πŸ‚ Here are our guidelines for alcohol consumption on our property.

By attending our events, you agree to abide by these guidelines.

πŸ‚ Deeply Rooted Church values responsible alcohol consumption. As a legal adult (21 years or older), you are welcome to bring and consume alcohol at our events. However, excessive drinking and inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. πŸ‚
