π―οΈWhat to bring to rituals, gatherings, and retreats?π
π Our community is dedicated to fostering spiritual growth, community building, and a connection with nature. Whether you're a seasoned Pagan or just exploring the path, we invite you to join us for our rituals, gatherings, and member retreats.
To ensure a meaningful and enjoyable experience for everyone, we encourage you to come prepared. Let's delve into some key considerations for your visit.
π―οΈRitual Itemsπ
Attire: Dress comfortably and in weather-appropriate attire. You are encouraged to wear your cloaks or other sacred garb for ritual. While some traditions incorporate sky-clad rituals, we prefer a more modest approachΒ for our main public rituals. This allows us to create a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
Personal Items: Feel free to bring items like sacred jewelry, cloaks, or other ritual garb.
Ritual Tools: Consider bringing wands, walking sticks, staves, or bones for consecration over the Sabbat bonfire. Tarot cards, runes, or other divination tools can also be brought into the circle after the gathering.
Offerings: Bring an optional offering for the ancestors, Gods, or nature spirits. Examples include crystals, candy, or biodegradable foods. You may also bring alcohol or another drink for libations.Β
Personal Touch: Consider leaving a stone from your land or home in our circle to add your personal touch.
π Are you excited to participate in ritual? Bring what feels comfortable to you! Sometimes folks bring animal skulls or other sacred items for consecration or to absorb the energy of the rituals! π
π―οΈMember Retreatsπ
π Journal and Pens: Document your experiences, insights, and reflections in a journal. Writing can be a powerful tool for self-discovery and personal growth.
π Laptop (Optional): While a laptop can be helpful for note-taking or research, be mindful of our limited solar power, especially during winter months. Consider a battery-backup solution or using your laptop sparingly to conserve energy.
π Comfort Items: Β Bring your favorite blanket, sweater, or other items that help you relax and focus. Creating a comfortable and familiar space can enhance your retreat experience.
π By being prepared with these essential items, you can fully immerse yourself in the retreat experience and gain lasting benefits. Remember, the goal is to create a space where you can connect with yourself, others, and the natural world.Β
π Member retreats offer transformative experiences that can deepen your spiritual connection and personal growth.π
π While technology can be a valuable tool, we encourage guests to embrace the simplicity and natural beauty of our off-grid setting. Consider taking a break from devices like cellphones, computers, and gaming consoles to fully connect with nature and your inner self.π
π―οΈCellphones, WiFi, and other recreational electronicsπ
π Cell Phone Service
Spotty Coverage: Cell phone service can be unreliable, especially for smaller carriers like Verizon. ATT&T tends to have better coverage in our area.
No Guarantees: Please be aware that cell phone service is not guaranteed, and coverage may vary depending on your location within our grounds.
π WiFi Access
No On-Site WiFi: We do not currently offer public WiFi at Deeply Rooted Church.
Town Options: You can find free public WiFi in nearby towns like Medford or Athens. Ask our staff for specific locations.
π Recreational Devices
Limited Power: Due to our off-grid power system, we recommend bringing your own power source for charging devices like gaming consoles or laptops.
Features May Be Limited: Β Internet-dependent features of gaming devices may not function properly due to limited or no WiFi access.
Alternative Entertainment: Consider bringing a portable DVD player for entertainment without relying on internet connectivity.
By understanding these technology considerations, you can plan your stay accordingly and make the most of your time at Deeply Rooted Church.
